Novel Notes Example-This was for a different book, but your work is the same!

Monday-Friday August 24-28:  We are off to a slow start!
Teams was down over the weekend, and I lost a lot of information.  We still haven't seen two full hybrid learning groups in class, and things are getting out of sync.  IF YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN YOUR BOOK YET, COME INTO MY ROOM AT LUNCH AND PICK IT UP.  For now.  let's start with the letters, and the first novel notes.
1. Letters Due before your next In Person Class for all students (Distance: by end of week)
2. First Novel Notes Assignment  Due Friday.
3. Use your Brown Literature Book to define the terms at 5:35 in the "Before You Read Catcher in the Rye" video below.
8/24-8/26 Guiding Questions:  Chapters 1-4  This would be what your first reading check or quiz would be like.  Make sure you have thorough answers to these questions.

  1. Who is telling this story?  What are your impressions of the narrator? Would he be a friend of yours?
  2. How much time has passed since the events in t he story? What do you think is Holden’s purpose for telling the story?
  3. What is Pencey Prep like?  Why is Holden leaving?  How does he feel about leaving?
  4. Why does Holden go see Mr. Spencer?  Why does he regret the visit?
  5. What is Holden’s opinion of Ackley?  How does he treat Ackley?
  6. What is Stradlater like?  Does Holden like him?  Do you?
We will start LIVE Classes on ZOOM or TEAMS Meetings on SEPTEMBER 2nd

Hybrid Learners:  Start with these few videos!
Distance Learners: Chris has your books in the fishbowl. Pick them up before 3:00PM
